  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips
  • 7 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 Tablespoons cannabutter

Cooking Instructions

Prepare a loaf pan by lining with foil or parchment and spray lightly with cooking oil. Put all ingredients into a microwave safe mixing bowl. Place in microwave. Cook on high for 1 ½ to 2 minutes. Stir. Heat on high for another 2 minutes. Pour into prepared loaf pan. Cool. Cut into pieces.

Regular Batch Cannabis Chocolate Fudge

  • 3 cups chocolate chips
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup cannabutter

Cooking Instructions

Put all ingredients into a microwave safe mixing bowl. Microwave for 5 minutes, stopping to stir halfway through. Mix well. Pour into greased 8 x 8 pan. Cool. Cut into pieces.

Best Chocolate For Making Infused Microwave fudge

You can use any chocolate chips, but semisweet chocolate chips are the best. Because the sweetened condensed milk has a large amount of sugar, the semisweet chocolate balances out the flavor. As for brands, most are fine for making cannabis fudge but read the ingredients on the package. If you see flour, it is a sign of poor quality and will no longer be gluten free.

Using Cannabutter to Make Cannabis Fudge

Always make sure you decarboxylate cannabis before making edibles. Please visit the Edibles Tools page for more information. You can use either regular cannabutter or quick cannabutter for making cannabis chocolate fudge.

Dosing Cannabis Fudge

In order to achieve consistent dosing, make sure that your pieces are equal sizes. If you know how much THC is in your cannabutter, simple divide that number by the number of servings to get the dosage per piece.

If you grow your own flower and make your own cannabutter, a few more calculations are required.

How many grams of dried flower are you using in your batch? Multiply that number by 1000. Next, multiply that number by the percentage of THC in your strain. Then, multiply that number by .88 for the conversion of THCA to THC. Finally, divide this number by the number of servings. Here is an example:

Bob used 7 grams of White Widow with 20% THC to make half a cup of cannabutter. He then used half of the cannabutter to make his fudge that he cut into 24 equal sized pieces.

Half a cup of cannabutter yields: 7 x 1000 = 7000 mg x .20 (THC) x .88 (Convert to THC) = 1232 mg THC

Bob used 1/4 cup to make his fudge, so 616 mg THC gets divided into 24 piecces, making each piece 26 mg THC

FAQs

What keeps fudge from getting hard? ›

Too Soft or Too Hard Fudge

The amount of time you cook fudge directly affects its firmness. Too little time and the water won't evaporate, causing the fudge to be soft. Conversely, cook it too long and fudge won't contain enough water, making it hard with a dry, crumbly texture.

How hard is fudge supposed to be? ›

Even without a candy thermometer, you can still check if the fudge is cooked by doing a cold water test. Drop a piece of hot fudge into a glass filled with ice water. It should form a soft ball that can easily flatten between your fingers.

Why does fudge need to cool for such a long time? ›

After cooking, the mixture must cool before being stirred in order to make it crystallize. This cooling period is essential: this is what determines the size of sugar crystals which, remember, should be as tiny as possible. Ideally, the syrup should cool to a temperature of around 43 to 50 °C (110 to 122 °F).

What is the secret to good fudge? ›

The trick to good homemade fudge is to cook the ingredients to the right temperature to form a sugar syrup, and cool the mixture properly so the texture of the fudge turns out smooth and firm, but soft enough to cut.

Can you fix fudge that didn't harden? ›

How can you fix soft fudge? Put it in a microwave safe bowl that is large enough that it won't boil over. Reheat it to the boiling point and cook for about 3 more minutes. Then you can beat some powdered sugar into it if this doesn't make it set.

Should I stir fudge while boiling? ›

Avoid Stirring Once the Mixture Comes to a Simmer

Another key part of a successful fudge texture is when you stir the mixture. Stirring the sugar and milk during the initial stages of cooking allows the sugar to dissolve. However, once the mixture comes to a boil, it's time to put the spoon down.

What happens if you over stir fudge? ›

Once the sugar has dissolved and the mixture has come to a boil, do not stir it. If you do, the sugar can crystallize, giving your fudge a gritty texture. As you beat the fudge, pay attention to color and texture. Once the fudge loses its sheen and thickens, put down your spoon.

What happens if you don't beat fudge? ›

However, if you don't beat it at all, the crystals won't form properly, so your fudge won't set. If you forget to beat the fudge, try heating it back up over low heat, then beat it once it's slightly softened. If you beat the fudge too soon, the crystals will be too large, and the fudge will be grainy.

What is the best pan to make fudge in? ›

Secondly, the pot's material should allow for good heat distribution hence your top choice should be copper cookware or a pot with a copper core. Copper's exceptional heat conductivity offers unparalleled temperature control, an asset when working with finicky ingredients like sugar.

Why did my fudge come out like taffy? ›

If the temperature is too low, the fudge will be too soft and sticky, and if it's too high, it will turn into a hard, crumbly mess. The ideal temperature to cook fudge is between 232-234 degrees F (111-112 degrees C).

Can you remelt fudge? ›

OMG My fudge is grainy, what do I do? -

Pop the grainy fudge back into the pan along with some water and a little cream and melt the fudge back down to a liquid and re-boil it to temperature. Heat slowly to begin with and make sure the mixture goes completely smooth before bringing it to the boil.

Why add vanilla to fudge? ›

Vanilla enhances the flavour of chocolate by adding creaminess, balancing sweetness, and countering acidity and bitterness.

Why can't you refrigerate fudge? ›

Fudge is best stored at room temperature for 2 to 3 weeks wrapped up in its original wax paper. NEVER REFRIGERATE your fudge as this will draw out the moisture and leave you with dry, crumbly fudge.

What is a substitute for corn syrup in fudge? ›

A modified simple syrup of four parts sugar to one-part warm water is an easy corn syrup swap in many recipes, including confections cooked to the soft-ball stage—think buttercreams, pralines and fudge. This neutral swap is similar in taste to corn syrup.

How do you keep fudge soft? ›

Fudge is best stored at room temperature for 2 to 3 weeks wrapped up in its original wax paper. NEVER REFRIGERATE your fudge as this will draw out the moisture and leave you with dry, crumbly fudge.

How do you keep fudge from crystallizing? ›

By letting the fudge cool without stirring, you avoid creating seed crystals. Stirring would help sucrose molecules "find" one another and start forming crystals. Stirring also introduces air, dust, and small dried bits from the walls of the saucepan—all potential seeds for crystal formation.

How do you make homemade fudge firmer? ›

Harden the fudge: Place your container or tins in the fridge for 2 hours, which is the time it takes for the fudge to set. Once it's hardened, cut the fudge into 12 pieces or remove it from the muffin tins. Store in the fridge or the freezer (if you don't devour it right away).
